Cypriot Heritage Festival in Lania

Step into the traditions of Cyprus at the Cypriot Heritage Festival in Lania, a two-day celebration of the island’s food, crafts, music and authentic village culture. Taking place on 19–20 September 2026 at Lania Community Park, the festival gives visitors the opportunity not only to discover traditional Cypriot customs, but also to experience some of them first-hand. ✨ WHAT TO EXPECT 🍞 Traditional Food Demonstrations Watch traditional Cypriot products being prepared, including: • Traditional bread • Trahanas • Palouzes – the traditional grape-must pudding associated with Cyprus’ grape harvest season Visitors will also be able to discover and purchase a variety of traditional products and local delicacies. 🧵 Traditional Crafts Discover traditional Cypriot craftsmanship through live demonstrations, including: • Komboloi making • Pithkiavli making – the traditional Cypriot flute • Decorative gourd craftsmanship These demonstrations offer visitors a closer look at traditional skills that have been passed down through generations. 🥙 Hands-On Traditional Cooking Visitors can also take part in an experiential workshop for making “pitta tis satzis”, a traditional Cypriot flatbread cooked on a satzia. 🫒 Olive Mill Museum Experience The programme includes an experiential guided visit to the Olive Mill Museum, where visitors can learn more about traditional olive production and the important role olives and olive oil have played in Cypriot village life. 🎶 MUSIC, DANCING & ENTERTAINMENT Throughout the weekend, enjoy: • Traditional Cypriot dancing • Choir performances • Live music • Traditional and popular folk music • Cultural activities • Activities for adults and children The festival is suitable for families, couples, groups of friends and anyone who wants to experience authentic Cypriot culture in one of Limassol district’s beautiful traditional villages. 📅 EVENT INFORMATION Dates: Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 September 2026 📍 Location: Lania Community Park, Lania 4744, Limassol District 🎟 Entrance: FREE 📞 Information: +357 25 432333 📧 Email: laniacb@cytanet.com.cy Organised by: Lania Community Board 🌿 GOOD TO KNOW Lania is a beautiful traditional village in the Limassol countryside, so it is worth arriving with enough time to explore the village as well as the festival.
